Bengals Dare to Care Day is a Buffalo State tradition and a great volunteer experience for faculty, staff, and students. Join President Conway-Turner for a morning of service alongside Buffalo community organizations and members.

Students are available to volunteer in the community (painting, gardening, event help, etc).

Things to Remember

  • Masks are required of all attendees (and on transportation), regardless of vaccination status.
  • The CCE coordinates the service projects and transportation.
  • Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes. 
  • Don't forget to register!
  • Sign-in is when you'll sign up for specific projects.

     

Site Coordinators

We need 80 individuals to serve as Site Coordinators during the event. 

Your Responsibilities
You'll be partnered with another leader and be responsible for your group while in the community. 

  • Know who and how many volunteers are on your project, 
  • Make sure the group leaves campus and the project site together, 
  • Pass out gloves and other tools needed for the project, 
  • Be an extra set of hands for the project coordinator to keep the project running smoothly, and 
  • Facilitate a reflection conversation with your group.  

Site Coordinator Training
Mandatory training for all site coordinators takes place one week before the event. 
Available training sessions: September 27, 12:15-1:30pm or September 28, 6:00-7:00pm.

Event Assistants

We need 50 individuals to serve as Site Coordinators during the event. 

Your Responsibilities

  • Check in volunteers, 
  • Support crowd control efforts, 
  • Direct and support volunteers getting on buses
  • Assist with other general in-the-moment event support. 

Event Assistant Training
Mandatory training for all event assistants takes place one week before the event. 
Available training sessions: September 27, 12:30-1:00 p.m. or September 28, 1:00-1:30 p.m.

Student Organizations

All members of your organization must be registered for the event.

  1. Each member can register themselves, or 
  2. Gather the names and e-mails of all participating members and register them all at once*. 

*You can register multiple participants on the online registration form.
